November News - November 18, 2008
“In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer.” (Albert Camus)
I thought of you last night as I left work to find I had missed the first real snow-- the one that after weeks of small flurries, finally sticks to your car and shoe laces and hair. It isn't that I had forgotten you or that I haven't wanted to write... but where does one find extra hours in the day? I have often wondered if we all teamed up and ran to the east at the same time, would our tiny feet slow the earth just enough to make the afternoons longer? And is there a way to only do it on Sundays (which are the best days for long afternoons)?
I am busy as always, but I will be playing two very, very short sets this month. I do hope to see you. If not, I wish you the happiest and fullest of Thanksgivings. The kind that leaves you sleeping in front of the television, one button shamelessly undone on your pants. If you find the time this holiday season, definitely go see “MURDERERS” at Next Act Theatre (www.nextact.org). It is brilliantly done and a wonderful break from the usual holiday productions.
As always, keep your feel on the ground. There are children on other planets that don’t even have gravity.
Love,
lisa
